It was with great sadness that we heard of the death of Simon Barrow and we are pleased to publish in full Tony Tinkel’s obituary of Simon, which will also appear in the School Magazine. We hope that there will be a good attendance at the Memorial Service on Saturday 28th April.

This year the re-union to be held at the School will be for those who were at the O.S. during the 70’s. It will take place on Saturday 9th June and those interested in attending should contact Linda Coupland. Previous such re-unions have been a great success and those eligible should certainly make a point of attending.

Real Tennis has become an increasingly high profile activity at the school. We are pleased to include a report from Jonathan Howell on its history at the School and from Chris Herbert on the very successful Old Boys’ results and their plans.

Make sure you have the Annual Requiem Mass for Old Boys in your diary. It will take place on Thursday 8th November at 6.30 p.m. in The Little Oratory.

The Annual Dinner and AGM will take place on Friday 21st September at the St Stephens Club, London S.W.1. If you have not been to a dinner since the venue was changed, this is your opportunity. If you are one of those, still entitled to a free dinner, do come along. For those of you who left in 2001 or later, there is a reduced rate, so why not get a group of mates together and all come along?

In the last issue, we offered the chance to win a case of wine, if you sent in your e-mail address. We have decided to defer holding this draw until the Annual Dinner (another reason to come!) and in deference to one of our correspondents, we will need to include the names of one or more luddites in the draw. So there is still time for you to have a chance if you send your e-mail address to the Records Secretary.

We are still looking for a budding journalist to take over the (not very arduous) job of editing The Oratorian. Don’t you think we need some new blood? Please apply to the current editor.
